When evening falls, we often pause to look up at the star-filled sky, and it’s a real treat to spot barn owls drifting silently across the fields under the moonlight. Take advantage of the hidden trails to see starry skies, we're in a designated dark sky area.

We’re lucky to be near wonderful cycling options, whether you prefer off-road tracks along old railway trails like the Monsal, Tissington and High Peak, or leisurely rides on quiet country roads. From gentle family routes to longer adventures, we enjoy guiding guests towards the scenic paths to discover rolling countryside views and hidden corners.

Bike hire is also available less than a mile away to Parsley Hay. This is on the Tissington and High peak trails. These are safe, traffic free, trails on former railway lines.
